You Don’t Need a Crisis to Begin Again

I recently had a conversation with a former client—a successful stockbroker in his late 40s. He told me, “My dad always said I’d be crazy to leave this job. I’d be set for life.”

He followed that advice for decades. But when we spoke, I could hear the fatigue in his voice. He was burned out. Restless. Disconnected. And his father had been gone for over ten years.

“The strange thing is,” he said, “I still feel like I need his permission to make a change.”

That moment wasn’t about a career switch. It was about something deeper: self-awareness, authenticity, and reclaiming personal leadership.

This is why I created the Humanistic Leadership Model (HLM)—because I believe leadership begins not with strategies or titles, but with the courage to ask:

Am I leading from who I truly am?

What Humanistic Leadership Looks Like

In the HLM framework, we start with:

  • Self-awareness
  • Systems thinking
  • Humanistic values in action

From there, we help leaders become more than just decision-makers—they become coaches, connectors, and culture-shapers.

When leaders lead from within, teams thrive. And yes—sometimes, they even rediscover the joy in their work.
